Why Don't People Respond?

I've been online twice today- and ive chatted to 4 people. All online.
No one ever responds back after they were the ones that started the conversation!
Urgh, how annoying.
And it's even more annoying when someone says something but they expect a response and if you don't respond, then they think that you've died and just don't say anything and then the whole convo dies! Annoying!

I still havent spring cleaned. My room is an abomination!!
