Birthday
Saturday, November 13, 2010 7:59 PM
"So what do you want for your birthday?" How the fuck should i know? Why do people constantly ask this question instead of giving surprise gifts like they did in the good ol' days? LOL. People are always asking the birthday kid what they want instead of exchanging the element of surprise. Sucks. And also i hate the idea of 'chipping in'. I know it sounds selfish but im sure people love presents. And lots of presents, the better. It's kinda like $2 each from a group of 20 or so people will only give you a tiny measly teddy bear. (i hate teddy bears. hint hint- but not if they have some stupid funny ass comment on them) I mean honestly, we're putting our hard earned 2 buckos to someone who only spent like 2% of that money for a teddy bear. Money NOT well spent. I've come up with a rule though- if theyve made me happy over the years and i trust them with my life, then they deserve something great from someone as awesome as me- so then i buy them i separate gift. But if im lazy then i chip in. LOLLL. So before church, my sister comes up to me and asks me, "Hey what do you want for your birthday? Cause mum wants to know." I say, "I dont know! I thought about this last night- if they give me money, im giving it back to them." I mean giving money is just another way of saying, 'Uhh yeahhh, i didnt know what to get you so heres $50 to get something for yourself. Ohrightkthanks'. Then after church, my cousins drove us home due to the rain and he asks me, "So what do you want Jenny?". I replied with the annoyed, "I dont knowwww". I add also that my cousins and my sister have basically planned out my birthday with me in the car being silent as per usual. There are 2 ways of looking at this situation: 1. Uhh hello? Birthday girl in the car here! Do i have no say in what we do for my birthday or what? 2. Oh cool. Im having a surprised birthday party kinda event. But it's not really a surprise if im sitting right here, listening to all the details. I love the element of surprise. I love surprise birthdays you always see in tv shows, i love surprised gifts- and even if you cant get something awesome, get something funny! Laughter is pretty awesome on birthdays i hear. yeah you get the gist. So my plans for my birthday are as so (according to my cousins and sister): - go work - go church - go highpoint straight after - eat at happy days - go watch the awesome harry potter (which i would have already watched with the mates- oh yeahhh!!) <$BlogItemBody$> |
