click here --> aaron's translated blog. the post from 29/05/09 is pretty good. finally honest and open! i like the fact that he doesnt care if he's rude. well from what he was saying and how he said it, it sounded like he was being rude. but even he was/maybe, i liked it! true guy! my sisters sick and hopefully i dont get sick. i want to enjoy my holidays as much as possible in a healthy lifestyle thank you very much. borrowed so much stuff today from the library. i finally got the lily allen album! i love her. her songs are so catchy! haha. currently procrastinating- working on my humanities essay right now. --oh crap. i just sneezed. does that mean anything?? about world war 1 causes and stuff. theres militarism, alliances, imperialism, nationalism and crises. i honestly dont understand it but im trying my best here. just as practise, ill write up my essay here. WORLD WAR 1 CAUSES: The outbreak of World War 1 had a number of major factors that individually played a role in the coming of the Great War, although many believed that the main cause that struck the barriers of countries to war was the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife. That being one of the cases, alliances made between countries, the military and army forces that were formed, nationalism taking over Europe, the strengthening, influencing, and establishing of empires had also been the reasons of the build up to World War 1 in 1914. Alliances had a major part in the beginning of World War 1. It was after the build up of tension from the other factors, Nationalism, Imperialism, Crises and Militarism, the countries at war were afraid about being attacked by stronger armies that they formed alliances to help counter their attacks. Throughout 1879-1914, countries formed alliances with one another. Germany formed an alliance with Austria to increase its strength and to prevent the possibility of attacks from Russia. Germany and Austria then made an alliance with Italy to stop them from joining sides with Russia. While Germany had their alliances formed, Russia was underway with their alliance formation. Russia formed an alliance with France and Britain, which i believe are the strongest powers of Europe. The alliances formed was a strong alliance. This alliance system ensured the protection of the formed countries from their enemies. Alliances added the tension, although it was formed to prevent war, it was actually the cause of it. Nationalism is the next factor that had contributed to the cause of the war. It was a strong feeling, pride and support one had to their own country. These nationalists were very proud about their nation that they wanted it to be the richest, powerful, and most important nation compared to others. Because of this strong pride towards their country, it made people aggressive towards nations and was unforgiving if one nation had offended another. It was believed by historians that "it was nationalism that encouraged Givrilo Princip to shoot dead the Austrian heir." This factor also created much tension that had an impact in causing World War 1. -------------- -------------- wow, im doing pretty well huh. dont remember when i started this post but now its 3:40PM. i feel like stopping and taking a break but im too into it to stop! haha. oh oh! i have a drama list to watch. im re-watching some old good dramas this holiday. most likely next week. having a harry potter marathon tonight. i got the popcorn ready and everything. i warned my parents too so they better not yell at me when im really into the film, to go bed cause its 3 in the morning. im moving a little matress (just incase i fall asleep) to the living room- where theres the kitchen right next to it, a bathroom (not next to the kitchen but its seperated by a door- dear god, next to the kitchen? my oh my!) and a door that seperates the bedrooms to the tv (HD TV btw! new tv. the screen's pretty big. good sound cause you cant actually hear the sounds from the seperating door- good stuff). its gonna be awesome. i forgot, my phone got scratched pretty badly on one of the edges. i was walking from the car park to the market this afternoon and had no grip and dropped my phone under a car. luckily not too far! man, concrete's a bitch. everythings still good with the phone and all. i dropped my old pone a jazillion times (literally) whenever i wake up, outside at school or wherever! and it still worked perfectly! loved that brick of a phone. i miss it. my mum dropped it water on that awaful rainy 24/7 day. but on that same day, my mum called home to tell me to bring in the clothes cause it was raining and to unblock the water pipes so the water can be stored (very watery friendly). i went outside in the rain (with thunder) with my orange rain jacket and started sweeping the ground of water, bringing in the clothes... i obviously got wet but it was fun! sucks there wasnt a guy there. wouldve been so romantic. i kept looking up and thinking of aaron coming and grabbing my face and smooching me all over! hahah!!! nah, im kidding. but i did think of a guy coming and putting an umbrella on top of my head to shield me from the rain! ahhh...dream on! ok, better continue with the essay. -------------- -------------- Imperialism was another cause of among the Powers which then later led to the war. Imperialism was when a country takes over land or countries to make subject to their rule. It is almost like an "unwritten" competition to take over parts of the world. Countries such as Britain, France and Germany had almost gone to war due to the clashes in North Africa. Th British and the Russians had resented each other due towho should have control in Persia, modern Iran. All countries have their reason why they would want to take over new land or countries of others but the main reason is for resources of materials, gold, weaponary or for getting more countries to commit to helping the event of a war. The more colonies they had, the more success they would have in a war. The last cause of the war is Militarism. Countries in Europe during this period would purposely grow their armies and make them as big and as powerful as they could to look intimidating so no one would want to declare war. It brought up tension and fear among the countries of Europe. Britain was the largest empire at the time, having the largest navy. Germany envied them so they created a stronger navy than theirs- increased warships and the number of people. Britain thought of it as competition so they responded and increased their numbers. It was then a race for building more warshipis and to increase the number of people in the navy/army. All conflicts in Europe resulted in the building up of the nation's army and navy and also their weaponry, equipment and other resources. It is therefore resonable to state that despite the assassination of Franz Ferdinand and his wife, there were 5 other factors that triggered the countries to war. These significant factors: Alliances, Imperialism, Militiriam, Nationalism and Crises all contributed to the causes of World War 1 and are still debated today by historians. im still missing "Crises" dont really understand that section. wow, im almost done. and it sounds pretty good too. spent about 3 hours on it? teacher said we shouldve spent about 20 hours on it. seems too much of a hassle really. its already 5:20pm. so tired. lol. not really. still up for the marathon tonight! ahh!! so excited. starting quite late: around 10pm. watching simpsons, merlin, masterchef, rove- bruno interview! whoop whoop! i really want to watch the following movies: - the hangover - ice age3 - the proposal - transformers (watching it in a few weeks. when it dies down a bit) - harry potter - coraline (maybe) i think thats it. theres possibly more. the movies i reallllly wanna watch are: - the hangover - transformers - harry potter hp is a must. gonna watch transformers in 3D at imax highpoint. cant wait. i seriously need a job. i hate the fact that i want things but i always get my parents or my sister to pay for it. especially when it comes to food. cause it costs so much and then gone the minute. "theres 3 bucks ill never see again" i applied for the movie store but i havent heard from them. i am goingn to volunteer at the vinnies place near my house but its been a month since i returned my application form. oopsies. by the time i get there, they probably wont accept me anymore- irresponsible. sad sad. ok, holidays stuff: HOMEWORK: - business outcome1 - english - humanities assignment - maths FILMS: - brown sugar chivalries - brown sugar macchiato - they kiss again - the other movies i borrowed STUFF: - do nails: blue with white stripes (HOTT!) - clean house - clean bedroom - have a harry potter marathon (tonight) - out to the movies - guitar hero till my hands get sore etc etc now, im gonna do my nails. haha. cheerio <$BlogItemBody$> |
